Family Tour

Our Family Tour begins by exploring the spectacular entrance chambers, after which you cross Cody Falls, climb the cascades and enter the main stream way. Your guide will escort you upstream through a series of short climbs, where you will observe soda straws, calcite and sedimentary rock formations and proceed into the central chamber.  You will experience complete darkness after which your guide will identify stalactites, stalagmites, draperies and other unique formations.  Your continuation upstream will include interpretation of the geology, and glacial effects on the cave environment.  As you reach the junction for extended tours you will see the effects of calcite cementation on the once loose boulder pile, observing pristine sedimentary rock formations.  From here you will gain a new perspective of the spectacular features of the unique cave formations as you exit the cave.

We provide: coveralls, kneepads, gloves, helmet & headlamp.

Our Explorer Tour begins by following our Family Tour Route (please read above).  From the junction you will continue on climbing ropes and ladders, and slithering between boulders on your way to the conservancy section. Your guide will escort and interpret you throughout this extensive fragile environment of pristine Soda Straws, Stalactites, Stalagmites, Calcite, Draperies and Sedimentary Rock Formations.  You will climb into the ancient abandoned fossil passage, observing impressive galleries, stream ways, and huge granite boulders.    You then return through interconnecting sections of cave passageway towards your exit from the cave. The final rope assisted climb leads to the dog leg passage and finally through the “squeeze”.

 
Adventure Tour

We provide: coveralls, kneepads, gloves, rappel equipment, helmet & headlamp.
You provide: Footwear, clothing, food & drink

 Our Adventure Tour begins by exploring the spectacular entrance chambers.  After interpretation of some of the caves unique features you gain direct access to the base of Cody Falls via the 40ft RAPPEL then onward to the terminal sump. You ascend Cody Falls and your continuation upstream will include descriptions of the geology, and glacial effects on the cave environment.  As you reach the junction you will see the effects of calcite cementation on the once loose boulder pile, observing pristine sedimentary rock formations. From the junction you will continue on climbing ropes and ladders, and slithering between boulders on your way to the conservancy section. Your guide will escort and interpret you throughout this extensive fragile environment of pristine Soda Straws, Stalactites, Stalagmites, Calcite, Draperies and Sedimentary Rock Formations.  You will climb into the ancient abandoned fossil passage, observing impressive galleries, streamways and huge granite boulders.  This point is the conclusion of the Explorer tour, but you get to continue. Firstly through John’s Crawl (which was the end of the Cave until the Mid 1990’s) into the cave extension and recently discovered passageway which leads to the mud room.  You then return through interconnecting sections of cave passageway to the spectacular soda straw passage.  Your exit from the cave is reached via the final rope assisted climb which leads to the dog leg passage and finally through the “squeeze”. A truly Fascinating and Traditional Caving Adventure!
